like Art Coussoulis, president of the Sacramento Claims Association, says; ‘He never says ‘no’. Whatever needs to be done, you can count on him to be there and do his best.”

He has served on the boards of the aforementioned Sacramento Claims Association; the Modesto Claims Association and the CCNC committee. Steve was invited to be a member of the Stanislaus Insurance Association and has just completed a successful stint as the sponsorship chair for the East Bay Claims Association golf tournament. He was also invaluable on the committee for the very successful golf tournament held by the Sacramento Claims Association in June of this year.

Steve graduated from Brigham Young University as a graphic designer, but while attending college supported himself by working as a carpenter. This was a natural lead-in to his work as a partner in a sales organization that represented building products for 20 plus years until he and his partner sold the business.

When Steve applied to Taylor Renovation in Modesto as a project manager, they recognized his sales abilities and gave him the task of marketing their rebuild and restoration services to the insurance community. Steve enjoyed the work and the friends that he made there but after a few years, he was to be married and reside in the East Bay so he looked for something closer to his home. He found a new position with the Restoration Clean Up Company, 20 minutes from his front door and continues his volunteer activities while vigorously marketing the services of the Restoration Clean Up Company through the East and South Bay and Sacramento.

He and his wife Sue were both empty-nesters with 3 children each so there wasn’t much blending of families to be concerned with when they married on September 9th last year. “The children are all acquainted and friends”, Steve says with obvious pride “and we are very proud of all of them”. When asked about his leisure activities, Steve says jokingly; “When I married Sue I said that she had a year to change her mind and I’m concentrating on making sure she doesn’t do that.” Besides making sure that his bride is happy, Steve also dabbles in remodeling projects; plays the guitar and plays golf. He says that his clientele for the World War II aircraft illustrations he used to do regularly are dying off so he doesn’t do much of that anymore. He keeps his hand in the art field by designing some of the marketing materials that he and Sharon Schuyler, another of the Restoration Clean Up marketers, use in their work.

Steve would never ask for the thanks he so richly deserves but I’m sure every activity that he has participated in is better off for his participation.
