We are saddened to learn of the passing of long-time friend to the Sacramento Claims Association, and the insurance claims community throughout Northern California, Marlon England, who died tragically at his home in Elk Grove March 2, 2008.
Born August 30, 1972, Marlon graduated from Grant High School in Sacramento. A member of the claims community for many years, Marlon was Past President of the Sacramento Claims Association, 2003, back when the group was meeting at Sheepherders in Rancho Cordova.
He is survived by his brother, Jay Triplett, his mother, Kathleen Silvers, and younger brother, Kyle Silvers.
A jovial sort, for the most part, over the years, Marlon was an involved participant in many claims industry happenings. He played an important role as the Sponsorship Committee Co-Chair for the Claims Conference of Northern California in 2005. That same year, he was named National Salesperson of the Year for CRDN, a notable honor for work well-done.
Marlon also helped out with coordination of events and golf tournaments, even taking on the arduous task of Golf Committee Chair for SCA in 2004.
The Northern California claims community has been shaken by this news. Many are asking what they can do to help ease the pain of the family. The viewing will be on Friday, March 7th from 6:00 to 8:00PM and his funeral will be at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 8th. Both events are held at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento.
Please send any donations made payable to Kathleen Silvers and Jay Triplett. On the memo please include “in memory of Marlon England - acct# 191-511-5479”. Mail to Wells Fargo Bank, c/o Trisha Brownfield: 400 Capitol Mall, First Flr., Sacramento, CA 95814.
Jay welcomes phone calls from those who wish to share stories of Marlon with the family. Jay may be reached at: 916-719-7591, or email him at: jayt@surewest.net.
Marlon will be missed by many, and will be long remembered.
